At the back of Leucate plage, you find about 20 mini restaurants that offer ‘degustation d’huitres et palourdes.’ Oddly enough they’ve never been my favorite until I tasted them there.
The atmosphere is friendly and international. They pour a local vinegar on the mussels hence the color and beautiful taste. Steven had his first lesson in ‘opening’ the oysters and was given a special short knife! He was chaffed!
