blessings

thanks to Jesus

Since I’ve started teaching in September in Angoulême, I have stopped going to the choir on Tuesday night. Lately I have changed bible study group, instead of Thursday night I go on Wednesday afternoon.  I’ve had to organise myself in the morning since I need to get out of the house at 6:30 am and no later. In fact after the February hols, I missed my train.  I had to drive all the way to Angoulême and I was so tired in the evening.

I am so grateful to the Lord for all the blessings he pours on us day after day. He is patient and full of compassion.  I say this because as I am growing old, I realise how frail we are and that somehow I am still around thanks to Jesus amazing love and grace.

The Lord is my shepherd

img_20160312_232833066.jpg

A psalm of David.

The Lord is my shepherd,(A) I lack nothing.(B)
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,(C)
    he refreshes my soul.(D)
He guides me(E) along the right paths(F)
    for his name’s sake.(G)
Even though I walk
    through the darkest valley,[a](H)
I will fear no evil,(I)
    for you are with me;(J)
your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me.

You prepare a table(K) before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;(L)
    my cup(M) overflows.
Surely your goodness and love(N) will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
    forever.

An amazing song

Be strong!

Good morning my friends. I was thinking how it is easy to say to somebody ‘be strong’  however the chance is that they would be completely absorbed by their problems. In a tunnel without seeing the light because things can seem so complicated that we can’t see the way out. Some days ago, we were in a conundrum, what to do. We prayed once and still we couldn’t fathom why we were in this maze! Later on in the day we prayed again and at the right time, the Lord rescued us gently.

So this morning this verse in Josua 1:9 came to my mind and I am reminded that the Lord keeps his promise at all times. He helps us when we are in the midst of our problems. This is so encouraging!

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Have a blessed day  🙂

I put my trust in you, my Lord and friend!

Surrender? Really?

I remember a special service in Bolton UK just a few months before I confessed Jesus as my saviour and redeeemer. (Back in 2007) During that service the pastor mentioned that Jesus gave his life for us and that we should give ours to him. I never heard that before (long story) and I wanted to know more about it. Then I found out an explanation of the word surrender, surrender your whole to Jesus, our beautiful King. It does mean that I let Him speak through me to others (which is much better than me) At times I am completely surprised. One example!

Back in England in 2015, one of my students in my tutor group at the end of the registration seemed upset and lost. She told me her parents were separating and it was starting to get messy. So this is what came out of my mouth. You know that I am a Christian. She agreed. I continued. I will pray that your parents get together. She smiled and thanked me and left. 6 months later at the end of the registration session, she just said as she was walking out.. by the way Miss, my parents are back together. I answered, wow Good news. Err, such a wonderful news. Our Father in heaven can do the impossible, we just wait in faith.

That takes me to  my present challenge: letting the Lord look after our children and their life. Pretty hard! When I speak to other parents, it can be a sore point or on the contrary, the song of victory. Yesterday I read a post that quoted:

Psalm 112:1-2  Praise the LORD. Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who finds great delight in his commands. {2} His children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.

We also read in 1 Corinthians 7:14  For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified through her believing husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy.

Surrender to the Lord Jesus is  indeed a sweet thing for He is just and loving, patient and good with his children.

Will you pray

les fruits de l esprit

Will you pray

With me and ask our Father in heaven

To bless us and our families,

To pour his wisdom on us and our friends

To give us strength during trials

To send His light in our night

To wrap us in patience and perseverance,

To lift us through joy and peace

Knowing that Jesus our Saviour

Lover of our souls,

and our King

Is always looking after us

His sheep, though at times in the ditch,

And feeling sorry for ourselves

Ready to welcome us back in his fold.

Asking in the beautiful name of Jesus. Amen

Just a break from unpacking…

You surely know the feeling that comes from doing the same thing, unpacking can be joyful but also frustrating so to relieve my anxiety, I thought I’d go on my channel and play a lovely song.

Have a blessed day wherever you are, my friends.
