Planning a trip to Malta!

I’m trying to choose a ‘flight +hotel’ holiday in Malta however when it comes to check the hotel, it takes time and of course there is no guarantee of success! At last, the girls and I  have agreed on the destination and indeed Malta seems to be a beautiful place with lots to do. Any hotel that you could recommend, let me know!

I also have to check the days and times for my flight from Poitiers to London or Limoges to London. Thinking about it, I should do this first!

Earlier on, Steven and I took a charming stroll to the only park in Civray, it’s by the  Charente river and I noticed that the banks are covered by new yellow leaves freshly fallen and lots of beautifully polished conkers! We sat down and watched for any birds. It was lovely to relax and take the time to unwind. Now that I have been teaching at Angouleme for a month, I find the days go too fast. On the other hand, it has helped me a lot to settle in France!

Dear friends, I trust that you are having a blessed Sunday 🙂

Back in France!

Steven and I finally arrived in Civray at 6 40 pm. Driving down from Stafford to Dover was fine as the traffic on the M 1 was fairly smooth! We caught the 6 40 P & O ferry and had a small breakfast there! Steven likes driving in France because there is hardly anybody on the motorway! We noticed a fair amount of buzzards waiting patiently on the fences. You can buy a latte for less than £2.00 in any services!
The boss is exhausted now so I will wash up and say ninite!
Be blessed and the Lord keep you safe, in the name of Jesus-Christ

The end of our hols in Civray

We had a lovely day in Civray. I was looking forward to attend my first house church so Steven dropped me there at 10:30 and he was so sad that he couldn’t make it because as yesterday it was assumption day and we did not realize the shops were closed; we couldn’t get any food and my brother was coming today so he went food shopping.

It was great to be with my joyful brothers and sisters in Christ, worshipping, giving thanks and praying, glorifying God for all his blessings and outpouring of his grace on us, healing our frail bodies and fixing difficult family situations. Before communion, this is what we read with Marc: Hebrews 9:11-15

11 But when Christ came as high priest of the good things that are now already here,[a]he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not made with human hands, that is to say, is not a part of this creation. 12 He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtaining[b] eternal redemption. 13 The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean. 14 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death,[c] so that we may serve the living God! 15 For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.

And also Hebrews 9:22 22 In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

Back at the campsite, we went to the house to meet the fourth electrician. While Steven was busy touring the house with the electrician, I also showed the house to my brother. At the end of the visit, Steven whispered that he completely forgot to put the chicken in the oven and I thought ‘oups’. When we went back to the campsite, le camping de Civray, while Steven was sorting the meal I took my brother and his dog, the glamorous Glam to see the various lambs and sheep and the river by the restaurant, we admired the beautiful blue dragonflies.

Have a blessed evening. N

So we are holidaying in Civray in a beautiful campsite at the edge of the town which explains the presence of this herd of cows.
The owners are welcoming and friendly.
This morning I continued reading the Gospel of Mark from ch6 to ch 9. Our Saviour is so understanding and patient with the disciples taking time to explain the paraboles to them (and us) i.e. Mark 7:18 ,Jesus full of compassion and love healed lots of  people, Mark 6:56. One of my favourite passages is when Peter says: you are the Messiah..Mark 8:29 When Jesus tells his disciples that He will suffer a lot, be rejected, put to death and resurrect 3 days later, Peter objected. The idea of the suffering servant was not something the disciples anticipated. Imagine their amazement at what was happening, Jesus forgiving sins,  telling off the Pharisees, calling them hypocrites, feeding the 4000 and then the 5000 with only a few pieces of bread and fish, delivering people from evil spirits..mind blowing stuff and the journey keeps on!
Have a lovely, peaceful and blessed weekend!

From Calais to Civray

Today is the first day of our French hols. We woke up at 3:15 in Dover and crossed the Channel at 4:30 on a P&O ferry (Only 10 minutes late) Perfect conditions, pleasant people on board..Steven noticed that if you wanted WiFi you had to pay £3.OO which is strange considering the crossing costs £ 200. When I drink a latte in Costa I have free WiFi.

We stopped on the aire de la Baie de Somme but noticed that the café crème didn’t taste as nice as usual. The site is wonderful though and the ducks quacked joyfully!

As we headed towards Poitiers I couldn’t help gazing at a sky of a different beauty; as if there were finger prints..
So nous parlons français et nous avons fait une promenade en bicyclette du camping jusqu’à Civray.
Bonne nuit bénie mes amis.
PS Meet one of the goats doing freely in the campsite!

First day out!

I hope that you have had a peaceful and blessed Christmas. Today Steve and I are chilling in Lichfield.
Yesterday we had a ‘ board meeting’ to talk about what we were going to do the next two weeks and decided that today we would go to Stafford. Imogen would go to the emergency dentist at 2 provided that she managed to have an appointment. While Steven was topping up his veg in Tesco, Imogen and I would browse the sales..only the 70%..
Nothing happened as planned. First we got up at 9 then I rang the dentist at 9:10 and was told that all the emergency appointments had gone. I thought it was best to let Imogen sleep a bit more and I put on the coffee. Looking after the two rabbits took a little longer than I thought because I couldn’t catch Mima Leah! She is so shy!
After our bible readings Steve mentioned that we would go to Lichfield: “There is a guitar shop there so I might as well have them repaired mine. It’s more convenient than going to Bolton!” I agreed and by then it was 12 so I woke Imogen up.”My tooth is not hurting as much. Praise the Lord! ” Just as well because we didn’t have the appointment. “I’m not going to Lichfield. I fancy the rest of my curry for breakfast!”
So we’ve left the guitar in the good hands of Steve and now we are enjoying a brunch.
What are you up to today? Have a wonderful day!

The last day of our hols in Norfolk where we’ve had a relaxing time. Tonight the chef prepared wonderful diner number 5: mussels and king prawns; we bought them at Brancaster on the way back from Wells-on-Sea. After diner I read half of the chapter Being for Blessing 1
I find it extraordinary to discover some of the powerful writings of Julian of Norwich. She talks about the Lord ‘in his love he clothes us, enfolds and embraces us; that tender love completely surrounds us never to leave us. As I saw it he is everything that is good. Reading about the love of our Lord for us his beloved creatures always makes me emotional..and fills me with joy! Have a blessed evening!

World stroke day

In UK a stoke occurs every 3.5 minutes.
Today we thought we’d go to Kings Lynn. Since we were last here over two years ago we found that they made minor renovations to the market place.

After a bit of shopping we went to the Riverside Art Centre.

image

In one the gallery we spoke to the Stroke volunteers who were holding a day of awareness there. I had my blood pressure taken 112/63. I was told it was good.

We are back in the caravan I’m enjoying a cup of coffee while the boss is concocting a venison casserole using the shanks he bought in the local butcher in Wells yesterday! How is your day going?

HOPE and PEACE In An Uncertain World

"Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God." Romans 5:1-2
