Planning a trip to Malta!

I’m trying to choose a ‘flight +hotel’ holiday in Malta however when it comes to check the hotel, it takes time and of course there is no guarantee of success! At last, the girls and I  have agreed on the destination and indeed Malta seems to be a beautiful place with lots to do. Any hotel that you could recommend, let me know!

I also have to check the days and times for my flight from Poitiers to London or Limoges to London. Thinking about it, I should do this first!

Earlier on, Steven and I took a charming stroll to the only park in Civray, it’s by the  Charente river and I noticed that the banks are covered by new yellow leaves freshly fallen and lots of beautifully polished conkers! We sat down and watched for any birds. It was lovely to relax and take the time to unwind. Now that I have been teaching at Angouleme for a month, I find the days go too fast. On the other hand, it has helped me a lot to settle in France!

Dear friends, I trust that you are having a blessed Sunday 🙂

Celebrating the Queen’s birthday

I tell you a secret, Steven my hubby is a true royalist and today we are celebrating the Queen’s birthday at home. At diner, we toasted her after saying grace. Steven saw her and Philip in 1982 driving by the Church of the Good Shepherd church, Rossmore, Parkstone.  We are watching again this special programme  dedicated for her birthday on channel 5.

The Queen lighting a beacon

The Queen has lit the first of more than 900 beacons lighting up across the UK and overseas as part of her 90th birthday celebrations. The monarch, accompanied by Prince Philip, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, are also attending a private dinner in Windsor Castle.Earlier, cheering crowds lined the streets in Windsor as the Queen took part in a walkabout. On Twitter, the Queen thanked senders of “#HappyBirthdayYourMajesty” tweets.

In another tweet, the Queen said: “I send  my best wishes to those who are celebrating their 90th birthday… on this shared occasion, I send my warm congratulations to you.”

Just for the record, Steven just told me he’d love to meet the Queen and I will have to agree with that. Who knows!

What  are you doing tonight my friends? Have a blessed evening.

I am not sure I still qualify to keep on the Janathon challenge as I haven’t posted much about my daily exercises for a week. Our youngest daughter came back from London and spent a whole week with us so we were overjoyed! We’ve had a great time together. She’s back to uni now.

Back in England!

We’re back home after travelling for two days, one day from Civray in Poitou to Calais and today from Dover to Stafford. My hubby admitted he was pretty tired. Last night we had a simple but lovely diner in a restaurant in the middle of Calais and this morning, the crossing was fresh but lovely. Now we are back home and we spent some time unloading the caravane and putting stuff away, saying hello to our two rabbits. My friend who looked after them for the last two weeks came round and we had a drink. She told me that they behaved apart from one day when they scratched her. They are getting used to her!

Though it’s dark outside, Steven has barbecued a small ‘poulet fermier’ that we bought in Civray’s market.

Encouraging verses for all of us, I believe when things get difficult!

Isaiah 41:10: “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, yes, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

John 16:33: “I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have trouble but take heart, I have overcome the world.

Steven and I finally arrived in Civray at 6 40 pm. Driving down from Stafford to Dover was fine as the traffic on the M 1 was fairly smooth! We caught the 6 40 P & O ferry and had a small breakfast there! Steven likes driving in France because there is hardly anybody on the motorway! We noticed a fair amount of buzzards waiting patiently on the fences. You can buy a latte for less than £2.00 in any services!
The boss is exhausted now so I will wash up and say ninite!
Be blessed and the Lord keep you safe, in the name of Jesus-Christ

From Calais to Civray

Today is the first day of our French hols. We woke up at 3:15 in Dover and crossed the Channel at 4:30 on a P&O ferry (Only 10 minutes late) Perfect conditions, pleasant people on board..Steven noticed that if you wanted WiFi you had to pay £3.OO which is strange considering the crossing costs £ 200. When I drink a latte in Costa I have free WiFi.

We stopped on the aire de la Baie de Somme but noticed that the café crème didn’t taste as nice as usual. The site is wonderful though and the ducks quacked joyfully!

As we headed towards Poitiers I couldn’t help gazing at a sky of a different beauty; as if there were finger prints..
So nous parlons français et nous avons fait une promenade en bicyclette du camping jusqu’à Civray.
Bonne nuit bénie mes amis.
PS Meet one of the goats doing freely in the campsite!

Day off at Lichfield

Here we are again strolling along in the beautiful market-town of Lichfield! The cathedral is looking magnificent as always. Lots of families are out and about and the market stalls are busy as always! Youngsters looking at the geese and ducks landing on the lake.

We went to have a look at the museum where they had a few old photos; the one that struck me was that of about a dozen of pea-pickers; black and white and very serious since the photographer would have told them no to smile. It reminded me of a photo of my grandmother when she was young!

What are you up to today? Have a blessed Saturday.

Birds in Norfolk

Recently I have neglected taking my camera with me, instead  I have used my mobile to take photos. I took these photos last October when we went to the RSPB Titchwell Marsh and I completely forgot about them. It was pretty windy but we saw lots of beautiful birds. We had a great holiday!

Friends, have a wonderful Christmas.

Let’s start the celebration for the birth of Jesus, the Christ, the Messiah who came to save the world not to judge it and thus reconcile us with the Holy One, our Father in heaven. Indeed we read in Ephesians 2:8: For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God– Thanks to Jesus we pass from death to life. He says things like : I am the bread of life, ( John 6:35) I am the resurrection and the life (John 11:25) Would like to find out more? Why don’t you click here!

Carols at the inn.

Here are two photos taken at the Bank house pub in our village. My friend Pam took the first one, a brilliant one, I confess I took the second one and it is rather blurred. Oups.

Speak to you soon. Every blessing.
